While trying to generate work for myself, I forgot to set the VCR to record the Lakers road game against the Rockets! I think that has only happen twice in my life!  Well, they won: but I didn’t get to take any part in it.

Yeah, I may not always watch the game live, but I don’t miss a game. I’ll watch late that night with a glass of whiskey, while the wife goes to bed early. Or maybe while riding the stationary bike the next day (working off the booze from the night before, duh). The point is I really am a Laker fanatic. I’ve been watching them since my Dad sat me down to watch the Lakes in 1983. Some of my happiest, saddest and most frustrating memories come from the Lakers (read: any championship, Magic’s announcements of aids and the Lakers current slump).

So I had a brilliant idea, and I am willing to forgo the millions of dollars I could probably make if someone could help make it happen. Let’s get the Lakers games on paid podcasts. And not just highlights like they do on Itunes with the NFL. I mean the whole game. Sure, you have to subscribe to the season or maybe you pay for each individual game, but it would be worth it. Think of how many times Kobe’s 81 point game would be downloaded. The actual game would not be up instantly but maybe within 24 hours of the game. Think of the number of jobs that the NBA can claim to have given back to the working class if each team had their own podcast production department. David Stern would be a hero. That’s really all he wants. Heck, I’d move up from 20 to at least top five with Paul Bunyun, Dusty from GI Joes, Genghis Kahn and the original Kitt from Knight Rider. Come on, David Stern: please.
