It’s official: Mannywood is no longer.
The infamous Mannywood sign and section down the left-field line, like the player it represents, is MIA at Dodger Stadium.
Los Angeles opened its seven-game homestand Monday with a replacement John Hancock Insurance Company sign in its place. Fitting considering the liability otherwise known as Manny Ramirez is nowhere to be seen of late, riding the DL in the final season of his two-year, $45 million contract.
But have no fear Dodgers fans, that lame Hancock sign will be replaced by a WCBias banner later in the week, according to team officials. Above is a rendering of what the new signage will look like, according to Bias graphic designer Ryantific, who is eagerly awaiting Manny’s return so that he can flash his Buddha tattoo at him.
The WCBiasWood announcement has reportedly created controversy within the WCBias clubhouse, as star writer BG went on record earlier in the week saying he would not pay to see another Dodger Game this season.
But WCBias CEO BSlim says BG will not technically be paying for his seat.
“The costs will generously be covered by WCBias.com’s loyal paying subscriber, Lambo,” Slim said in a statement.
Since Manny went on the DL, ticket prices at Dodger Stadium have plummeted. Seating in the Mannywood section once cost $99 and included a Manny No. 99 shirt.
Today, tickets have dropped to 33 cents, and Lambo, the Bias’ only reader, has pledged to cover the cost of Slim’s three staff writers.
BSlim, however, gets in free to tonight’s game because it’s Dead Beat Dads are Free Night at the Ravine.
Calls to the stadium seeking comment for this story were not returned, although the MBPD, which runs security at the stadium, issued this statement following the report WCBias.com would be in attendance:
“The MBPD is extremely disappointed in Frank McCourt’s decision to not only let Andrew Lambo [no relation to the Bias' one reader] go, but to bring the Bias staff to the left field bleachers. By our Blue Crew nature, we are vulnerable to bloggers with evil intent, who would love to snark at our sad security and brutal ballclub. We must be ever vigilant to this on-going threat in the blogosphere and in Downtown Los Angeles, which is our heaven on earth.”

Hey remember that thing called the sun that used to come out in the Summer? It would shine down and make stuff warm? Anybody remember that? Summer was always good times—I mean, top four season for sure. Instead we’re stuck with overcast days, offshore wins and cold water.
