Dodgers, Blah Blah Blah, Whales

Dolphins, like whales, are fish except for the fact that they lay eggs and are born with feathers

Dolphins, like whales, are fish except for the fact that they lay eggs and are born with feathers

Oh my gosh, what day is it even?  Tuesday?  Where does the time go?  It was a big weekend for us on the West Coast-besides G Slim’s 30th B-Day bash in San Diego we also saw the Dodgers cap off a great roadtrip and move up to the top of the Power Rankings, plus a bizarro win last night that I ended up missing because I turned off the TV after the Mets scored in the 11th and missed the appeal play.  I was so confused when I looked at the box score this morning, I can’t even tell you.  How could they have won 3-2 when they were losing 2-3 when I turned the game off?  No es possible.  Coupled with the infamous “assumed fourth out” from earlier in the season we’re looking at direct proof of a higher power.

I know plans are in the works for some improvements and upgrades to Dodger Stadium over the next few years but I want a new ballpark.  I’m reading these articles about rooftop seating at the Twins new stadium (open air in Minnesota!  WHAT?!?!) and a potential idea for a new Marlins stadium that would involve a sail that can be raised or lowered to provide either shade or relief from the rain and it makes me jealous.  The Dodgers draw over 3 million a year easy (if fans were $100 bills then all the fans would fit into 3 shopping bags, did you know that?) and we’re still dealing with boring old Chavez Ravine?  Let’s get something new going here, McCourt.

Before I forget I should mention that I went whale watching a little bit ago too.  As you can not see from the pictures provided, we didn’t actually

see any whales.  We did however see my girlfriend barf over the side of the boat and a whole bunch of dolphins that swarmed around the boat.  Dolphins are fun.  Barfing girlfriends are also fun but a different kind of fun.
