Lakers finally take out the Rockets, I can come up for air.

My bunker to hideout for the rest of the playoffs.

My bunker to hideout for the rest of the playoffs.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve written and I hate to disappoint the .00000000001% of the Earth’s population that actually care about what I have to write but I was preparing for the worst. I had dug myself a 50′s style nuclear bunker stockpiled with Guiness Stout and Firestone Pale Ale (for the perfect Black and Tan), Jalapeño Potato Chips and my collection of Lakers Classics dating from the beginning of the franchise to 2002. That’s right, 2002. Because I was afraid that tonight the Yao-less Rockets were going to blast off in the face of the Laker’s Nation: again. But the Lakers never allowed them to get their finger near the ignition switch from the beginning of the game. Throughout the series it seemed that the team that got things going in the beginning were the victors.  Props to the Lakers for taking caring of business early. Pau Gasol was a monster on the offensive end. In one play he tapped the ball three times of the glass before finally putting it down while being hounded by a barrage of red Rocket jerseys. Andrew Bynum finally snapped his funk as he implied that his game is better when he actually plays consistent minutes (that’s tough when you’re playing like trash in an important playoff series). And Sasha seemed to find his jumper in the end of the game after a horrible air ball.

I’ve come up for air out of my little cave. The sky seems a little brighter and even the 100 degree pre-summer weather didn’t seem to be so hot. My wife is happy to seem me again not to mention my dogs. I might even get a shower and a shave. But I won’t close the bunker down because the Nuggets are next and with possible Future HOF Billups running their show, they’re scary. Really scary.
