This Cayucos surf photo gallery is from today out at Cayucos Pier, which was firing on all cylinders — head high sets, a touch of offshore, and I was playing Mr. Mom because the wife is out of town this weekend.Oh well, luckily I brought my camera and my daughter and I were able to take home somewhat of a stoke thanks to some great waves. Could have been worse. I could have been at work … at a certain newspaper. But luckily those days are long gone.
Speaking of dads, not working and gorgeous Central Cali surf, big ups to the self-proclaimed “big, bald guy” who got the shack of the day — must 
have been in the barrel for four or five seconds before he made the great escape … with his wife and kids on the beach cheering him on. Not that I’m jealous or anything.
Oh yeah, my daughter’s favorite phrase now? “I’m stoked.”
Now that’s what I’m talking bout.
