Tebowing

In case you didn’t know, Tim Tebow is the subject of an Internet meme. It was going to happen sooner or later and, personally, I’m glad it happened the way it did.

The Internet presents to you Tebowing, via Tebowing.com. If you pay attention to the World Wide Web, you’ve heard of this by now.  The only question was, what would Tim Tebow say about this kind of thing?

Well, question no longer. Via Twitter, Tim Tebow gave his, um, blessing on Tebowing:

That’s actually good to hear, because this is way better than planking, the original stand-still-in-random-situations-while-someone-takes-a-picture meme. Sometimes, athletes are jerks and denounce things like this. No one knew if Tim Tebow would follow that route or take the high road.

Dude took the high road. Make fun of his awful quarterbacking all you want, but the guy has a solid sense of humor and doesn’t have any sort of real interest in stopping the meme from spreading; he totally could, since, y’know, that’s his last name and everything. The money this guy can make can be exclusive, kind of like the way Bart Scott did with his “Can’t Wait!” speech from the NFL playoffs this past January. Sure, he’d give it all to charity, but why not let this thing grow organically? People love it and it’s not really harming anyone; you’re praying, for goodness sakes!

Plus, this kid is a cancer survivor and legitimately was Tebowing while receiving chemotherapy and sent it to Tim. If you were Tebow, would you turn him down? (Note: We here at BallHyped give our prayers to that kid, too.)
